Information

How do I register?

At the top-right corner of the page, you will see a Register link for you to click. Fill the requested information to create your account. Note that you cannot use certain features of the gallery if you are not registered.

How can I create an album?

After registering and logged in, you will see your default album. By default, your album will be named after the name you wrote in the registration process, but you can change it later. You can only create and modify other albums inside your default album.

How can I upload a picture?

You must first select in which album you want to upload the picture. Remember that you can only modify your own albums. After choosing the album, click on the "Add Items" link at the left. Here you can locate the images you want to upload from your computer. You can also use linked images from other places over the internet. Note that your images must be lower than 200 KB, otherwise they will be ignored and not added. Only JPG, PNG and GIF images are supported.

How can I create albums in other categories?

By default, all users have their own albums under the "Member Albums" category. To be able to create albums in other categories, you have to make a request to an administrator through email. Please include the reasons you want to belong to that particular section, otherwise your request will be ignored.

How can I block users from looking at my pictures?

In the MapleSim galleries, you have the option to block the access to your galleries from other users. You can block either entire groups or just individual members. To do so, select the gallery of picture you want to restrict (you can only edit the ones owned by you) and click on the "Edit Permissions" link at the left. From here you can choose which users and usergroups can see you images. Be careful here, if you remove yourself, you can no longer edit your pictures and galleries! If you did something wrong in this section, request and admin to fix it. Admins will always see all of the user images, even if you remove them from the allowed list.

The sub-albums of an album get modified if I modify the main album?

No. Sub-albums are totally independent from the options of their parent albums. You must edit the options of each sub-album so that they have the same options as the parent album.

How can I protect my images from theft?

An option you can use in the MapleSim Galleries to protect your images from theft is the use of watermarks. A watermark is just a small image used to identify the image you want to protect as yours.

  • To create your watermark, you must go to your account options, and choose the "Watermarks" link at the left.
  • You will be prompted to upload your watermark image from your computer.
  • After you have uploaded and modified the options of your watermark, you have to edit the image from your album to which you want to apply the watermark. Locate the image, and choose "Edit Photo" at the left.
  • Go to the "Watermark" tab of your selected image. Here you can choose the watermark you want to use, where you want to place it, and to what items you want to apply the watermark (the actual image, its thumbnails or its resizes).

How can I move my pictures or albums to another album?

You can only move pictures or albums to other albums you own. To move the desired album or picture, first reach it, then select either "Move Album" or "Move Photo" (whichever the case) and then select the new location in the list that appears.

How can I delete Albums?
